Q: Is this calculator free to use?

Yes! Mileage Claim Calculator is completely free with no hidden costs. We may display ads to cover hosting costs, but the calculator itself is always free.

Q: Are the rates up to date?

Yes. We use the current HMRC approved mileage allowance rates: 45p per mile for the first 10,000 miles and 25p per mile thereafter for cars and vans. These rates have been consistent since 2011.

Q: Do you store my journey data?

No. All your journey data is stored locally in your browser only. We don't collect, store, or transmit any of your journey information to our servers. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

Q: Can I use this for my Self Assessment?

The calculator helps you work out how much you can claim, which you can then include in your Self Assessment. However, you must keep your own records of individual journeys (dates, destinations, business purposes) as required by HMRC.

Q: What if I find an error in the calculation?

Please email us immediately at hello@mileage-claim-calculator.co.uk with details of the error. We take accuracy very seriously and will investigate and fix any issues promptly.

Q: Do you provide tax advice?
